Enas-And it Begins...

My plane from home leaves in 24 hours, and that is the last I will see of home until mid-December. I'm so excited. I'm heading to London for a few days to see friends and family, then the fun begins.

Bye home, and hello MiT!!! =D

Gina! Hellooooo

I live in sunny South Carolina most of the time (and by sunny, I mean really frigging hot). And we don't really have a big airport since South Carolina has probably a total population of about 3.5 people. JUST KIDDING.

Anyway, we're driving up to Charlotte (2 hours or so) and then jetting off to Boston Logan. And by we, I mean all of my famblies except for my brother, who will have left the day before to move back into Carnegie Mellon.

I don't know how this is going to work because we can only take 4 bags without having to pay extra and I will be kind of really sad if I can fit my whole life into 4 50lb bags. D:

I am excited!

Enas-My Itinerary

Here is the route I plan on taking from home to MiT.

I start out with a red-eye plane ride from home (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) to London this Wednesday. There, I'll visit family, and see my best friend one last time before going off to college. Sunday: Plane ride to Sweden. And then, Sunday for a week; cruising through Northern Europe. On the 11th, a plane ride from Denmark takes us back to London, where we will spend one night, then fly to Montreal. We'll spend 5 days with my brother there (he goes to college there), and then we will drive down to Boston (around 5-6 hours).

This Journey should take exactly 18 days... Which should be a blast!!! =D

A brief idea of the cities we visit will be added into the entries. Keep watching for 'em.

Vivi - short preliminary entry

Hey guys! I hope Enas doesn't mind me hijacking the blog to make a short introductory entry and share my plans for getting to Destination MIT ;)

In case you all didn't know, I come from the fabulous land of Texas, where we never have a true winter, bake in the 105-degree weather in August, consider Chuy's the crowning glory of Mexican food, and people only come out of the closet if you live in one of the major cities (ever heard the expression that Austin is the "little dot of red in a sea of blue"?) For my journey to MIT, my family and I will be taking a roadtrip, heading east to Georgia and then up through all of the Eastern coastal states. We'll be stopping by various landmarks such as Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, DC, Ellis Island, the Liberty Bell, Niagara Falls, and Miniature World. After cruising by New York, we'll also be taking a little detour over the border to Canada before finally doing a 180 back to Massachusetts.

I'll be starting my voyage on August 6th and ending up at MIT August 18th (I'm DEECS-ing for my FPOP). Entries will be written from various hotels (provided they have a decent Internet connection - otherwise, I'll have to leech wireless off innocent residents who don't use encryption) and will be posted to my regular blog with mirrors on this one. I'm definitely excited; August 6th can't come fast enough =)

Enas-Welcome

Welcome to the site everyone!!! Here we will blog about our trips from home to MiT, so stay tuned for some stories and pictures.

We have people coming by car, people coming by plane, and a few crazy people like me taking several flights, a boat, and a drive to get there (well it's a summer trip then going to MiT, but the plane and drive are both for MiT, while the boat is a cruise).

Enjoy reading...
